Kelly Clarkson Is Still Talking About Her Weight

American Idol Kelly Clarkson’s fluctuating weight has been big news lately. And it seems that she can’t stop talking about herself either. She recently spoke with Reader’s Digest about her body issues. Kelly was asked what it means to her to “show girls that you don’t have to be skinny to be successful.” Her response:

I recently gave a self-esteem workshop for Girl Scouts in Nashville, and I told the girls that I wasn’t a role model for my weight, because I change. Sometimes I’m thicker when I’m around my family and I’m eating more. Sometimes I’m thinner because I’m on the road and that takes a lot out of me. But I do feel it’s important to talk to girls about weight. They see these images, and there’s no way the’ll ever live up to them. I want them to see someone who is real and know they don’t have to live up to anything.

I Don’t Feel Pressure to Be Thin, Kelly Clarkson Admits

As fans must know, Kelly Clarkson was never the one to comply to the current standards of beauty in showbiz, and that refers both to her style and to her weight. Always the rebel with a very powerful personality that shone in whatever she did, it’s been long that Kelly gave up the fight with the tabloids that criticize her weight, and that’s because she has learned to accept herself as she is, the singer admits to Us Weekly.

With her new album out and still wrecking havoc in the charts and on air, the last thing that Kelly can be bothered with right now is her weight, the singer reveals to the mag. It’s not really that she wants to “let herself go,” as some have described her recent weight gain, but rather that she refuses to starve herself to please others. Her focus is on her health, the singer explains, and she plans to have it that way for much longer from now on.

“I run when I feel like I need to run.” Kelly says when asked about her workout routine these days. At the same time, the original “American Idol” also admits that she’s always been “a little bit thicker,” but she has learned to live with that and is more than happy to see that people have come to understand this as well. Moreover, it’s not like she’s morbidly obese, the star says – she’s just heavier than most Hollywood stars but, as long as she’s happy and healthy, she’s not going to change a thing about that.

Fans must also remember that Kelly’s weight attracted similar controversy not long ago, when an appearance of hers on “American Idol” prompted the media to speculate that she might be pregnant. Although Kelly did not personally refute the report, several media representatives, such as Margarita Bertsos of Glamour magazine, put in writing just what they thought of the “controversy”: the public and the critics need to stop obsessing on weight and pay more attention to what’s important.

Kelly Clarkson loves her “bubble butt.” The “My Life Would Suck Without You” singer loves being a role model for curvy girls, and is especially proud of her shapely posterior. She said: “I totally have no chest, I’m all butt. Ever since I was a kid I’ve had a bubble butt - I get it from my mama. Guys are usually like, ‘Oh my gosh, look at that butt!’ In a good way!” “I’m a fan of my butt. I like filling out a pair of jeans, because sometimes I see girls who can’t and I feel bad about that.”

Kelly, 27, has been criticized for her fluctuating weight, but insists comments about her figure do not bother her.She is happy to admit she has cellulite and struggles to stay slim, and claims women who say it is easy to stay in shape are lying. She told Britain’s Heat magazine: “Dude, every woman has cellulite, I don’t care who you are. Unless you’re some anorexic girl in some mental institution? but even then their skin gets like that and worse. Any girl who tells you she doesn’t have cellulite is a frickin’ liar!”

Although Kelly has ruled out having cosmetic surgery to improve her figure, she is adamant women should not be lambasted if they do go under the knife.She insisted: “If a girl wanted bigger boobs, she could get them, but you can’t get a bigger butt!”"I’m kind of on the fence about it, because I have a who was completely unhappy with her boyish figure and she got breast implants and it turned her life around. So it’s hard for me to be against it, but I’m also not for it. I would never do it.”
